so, 72-93 dodge fullsizes have a pretty crappy front suspension setup. the 87-96 dakotas are very similar. but they use a triangulated lower arms and a rack and pinion. the 91-96 also had the same small block dodge engines available in them. so im in the planning stages for my dodge, and im thinking about starting with a dakota front clip and making a backhalf from there. but, it would be a retardedly over narrow track width. so im wondering, would there be any problems with making new controls for each side that are say 3" longer? or whatever the distance they need to be longer becomes. just use a stock style balljoint. round or square tube. nothing fancy. just clean and simple. i realize it would make less camber change, and more travel given the same bag location on the lower arm. is there any bad side effects im not aware of?
