ok kiddos I just did the drive from texas to az and bout to drive back and wanted to point out certain things to be aware of on your drive...
AZ DPS is out in force BIG TIME along I-10 from Phoenix to Eloy AZ (eloy is between casa grande and tucson)
Tucson has some construction on I-10 thru the Downtown area 55mph traffic fines are DOUBLE if you get popped in the zone
once you get thru that its smooth sailing thru Lordsburg New Mexico, roads are the greastest along that strip, lots of waves in the road that will cause the guys driving low to bottom out, especially be careful east of Benson AZ, there are some nasty ones there
After you get thru Demming New Mexico there are 2 construction zones that have the I-10 shut down to 1 lane, Highway Patrol is patroling those hot and heavy and its Double the Fine there if you get popped
El Paso was purty smooth going thru there, but lots n lots of traffic, more than usual for some reason
I-10 is purty much a breeze til you get close to Junction TX and WATCH OUT FOR DEER - no BS there, I spotted easily 50+ deer feeding along the roadside in the evening and thru the night, and there were atleast 10 dead deer along the roadside.
fog was a problem for me late evening and early morning.
I dont know if you guys are taking I-10 into San Antonio or taking the 290 friedricksburg cutoff, If you are taking the 10 there is more road construction west of san antonio around the fiesta texas amusement park
hope this helps
