hey guys,  here is my question.  im fixin to bag my runner and ive come into a problem.  where does the fn gas tank go?  i was planing onrunning a rear tri 4link from cando but then the gas tank cant go behind the axle.  my only thought is using the wishbone style 3 link. bu i havent tried one so i have no idea if it works good for side to side movement. i think if i ofset the tank to one side and then run the wishbone around it i might be able to get a 12 or 14 gallon tank but im not sure.  i know a irs would be the best but man i just dont want to fab one up....  its a pain in the arse...  thanks yall....

Why not leave the gas tank where it is and run all the bars forward? I'm guessing because of the floor. Nevermind I just put a  forward wishbone 3 link on a buddies hardbody I used suicide doors end bushings. those things are so stiff. If you want side to side I would recommend super pivots.   I miss my daily 4runner.

yea the floor would be in the way...  big time...  my only other thought would be to use a watts link and paralel 4link but ive never used a watts before but i think it would interfere since im planing on running the 4 link reverse.... the biggest thing is the spot for the gas tank..... im trying to make it where i can still use the back of the 4runner as much as possible....  not really an everyday driver but it will be used a bumch.....

what about this idea: have the bars mounted outside as far as possible so there is a rise above them but then you can have the legroom between them. or, ive seen a super super long ass 2 link on something one time. like, 3 or 4 foot bar. but, then its running like a frame rail and wouldnt really have any pinion change. it might be another idea worth thinking about.

so if i understand correctly...  your basically saying channel for the link bar the same way you would channel for the frame doing an old school body drop..... that sound like a bunch of work.....  but it would prolly work.....  its starting to sound like the only feasible idea to have good performance and enough room is a irs...... damn it.... why do i always have to pick the hard ones to bag.....

Are you wanting to keep your gas tank in the stock location? I relocated mine to the rear. My lower bars run forward and my uppers run backwards. Heres a picture how mine looks.   And this is it all covered up I still need to run the filler neck which I'll probably do out where the driver side tail light was. I also made an acess panel for my bags and shocks.

I ran a forward triangulated 4 link on my explorer, bags are on the upper bars and everything clears the floor except the driveshaft hoop which is only a couple inches up under the seat still a work in progress but you get the idea, and yes its the angle of the pic that makes it look like the driveshaft will rub it actually has a couple inches of clearance.

im planning on putting the gas tank in the back... matt that a sweet set up i like the beads you rolled in....  but im tryin to keep it more of a factory look... i know that about impossible but as much as i can anyways.....

brian that really loks good.... i like the low profile look... thats what i had in mind.... with your upper bars like that are there any negs to having em bent..... never thought about that but im would help keepin it lower profiled..... thanks for the pics yall.... really appreciate it....
