Hey max, I have a 2002 ram that is bagged in the back right now with a triangulated 4link, and my bags are on my outer bars, in a lever type application.

My shocks are also on those bars, about 4inches behind the bag.

My question is, I want my ride out back to be a bit stiffer.  what effect would adding a second pair of shocks out back do for me?

any suggesgions on another way to accomplish this?  I like my setup, with an RE-8 because it takes very little psi for me to get at ride height, but i just dont like how soft it is.

thanks

Taylor

taylor, i dont see any problem with running dual shocks. just make sure there mounted side by side. but you could also run a adjustible valved or a "stiffer shock"

What kind of shocks do you have in there now Taylor?

I just got some shocks from Bilstein that are really stiff due to a large lever ration on a car I am doing right now. They offer twice the dampening of a stock shock, and ran about $90 each.

I ran some steering stabilizers on the rear of my mazda for a stiffer ride...They work great!

The problem with a steering dampener is that they are 50/50 valving and are not designed for high speed hits. 2 shocks will probably work fine... not perfect, but tolerable.

auctually, im running a shock called Gas Grande, from monroe.  Its a 2" body shock, thats used on greyhound busses, i just opened eveyr box at the truck shop untill i found the stiffest shock they had, and then bought a pair of them.  i experimented over the weekend with different shock locations, and i think thats key to my problems.  Im probably going to move them a bit, and see if it solves my problems.  thanks for the input guys!   Taylor
