This is  something my wife wants me to buy for her.  She wants the cab basically restored, but with a few modern tricks, updated suspension, on air, either a very short stake bed or a late model dually bed from a chevy.  It will most likely need a new motor but most of the parts, and original drivetrain, are there.

Just want an idea of what you guys think I should pay or what angle you think I should go with it.  None of the plans are set in stone yet, and we haven't commited to buying it either.  The guy is looking for $400.00, but there is a complete runner on Ebay going for $1200.00.

It's a Jeep FC 150 BTW.  With the short 81" wheelbase.  There were only 30 000 made between all of the different models.  Bring on your input....

The very first thing I thought as well.  But, I was thinking of putting in something close from a later model, frame and all, which would make it easier to replace in the future anyway if anything were to happen.  The rest of the glass is flat which would be easy to have made up, or cut down, especially if the new windshield required chopping the rest of the top.

If your serious about this project then Id buy the runner for $1200 & if you have the funds Id also buy the $400 one just for extra parts!!

Looks really neat. But if money is an issue, I would stay away from it. Is the interior gutted? You could do a rollpan up in front and with a nice chop top it would be cool. Would you just fab a flatbed for it?

Thanks for the links guys.  I did a quick search online earlier, but found mostly technical information.  I'm gonna keep looking though. Yes the interior is apart, but the seats are with it.  Engine, tranny, engine access cover, dash, all of the major components seem to be there except the windsheild like I mentioned earlier. I'm actually thinking that a pre-04 Ford F150 stepside bed might suit the cab.  We'll have a little more discussion then we might get a couple of renderings made up.  I just have a few sketches I've done so far.  We tossed the idea of a stake bed this morning, but I think it would look better with a proper pick up bed on it.

It's official.  We struck a deal on it, but now the plans have changed a bit.  I'll prolly make a new thread in the under construction forum.  The front glass BTW is less than $300.00 new and still available.
