What's up Max....its crazy I never got around to hanging out with you at Tex Mex. The time just flew by that weekend. I got a question for ya. I am thinking about putting a cummins in my Dodge. Im pretty sure I have the clearance for it....my only concern is the added weight of the cummins on my 5 lug hubs and wheels. My LCA and UCA are all made out of 1/4 Dom so that is not a concern. The frame is way overbuilt so that's not a concern.....exhaust is gonna be fun but i think I got that covered....only thing holding me back is the 5 lug. I'm concerned the 5 lugs arent gonna hold the extra weight as the cummins is significantly heavier than my stock 4.7. I know it'll be hard to give a thorough answer but just your opinion on the deal would be awesome. Thanks alot Max. I wanna put it in but I don't want to have to change spindles, hubs, wheels, axles, etc.

Worried about a 295/35/24......pretty sure that's the same size most people run on 24 Alcoa's.....

i thought you said in a different forum that they were smaller... carry on. what is the weight of the cummins? as opposed to the 4.7?

Http://www.streetsource.com/Profile.aspx?ProfileID=19251  Marks dailyed and pulled on that tire for years..... Im looking for the weight difference right now...ive seen a couple 1500 with the cummins and 5 lugs but IDK it still bothers me cause I drive this truck alot...

its understandable, I would be kind of concerned as well, if you were super concerned you could add a ring to the hub of the wheel that fits tight on the hub of the truck, that way the weight is carried on the 5 lugs and the hub, then your concern would be the spindle shaft bending, which i wouldnt see happening unless your doing some nitro circus type shit. lol

in diesel power mag they took there 8 lug 3/4 ton qc short bed and lowered it   they used 2wd 1/2 ton uppers lowers and springs to race it in the texas mile race  the other reason on the swap was the rims had to be speed rated to the weight of the truck and it was alot easier for them to go five lug and just so you know it did 154 mph  and its one of the editors daily driver in cali  the truck they named project x if you wanted to look for it they ran it in several issues
