Has anyone put an engine driven compressor on a pup? I have a 92, looking to remove the AC and add a compressor. What kind of EDC did you use? Any extra info you want to provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Well not the same body style but I have a 210 on my 84. I tried using the ac brackets as a template but it wasn't going to work for me. I mounted mine a little farther down on the passenger side. I found four empty threaded holes right above the oil filter location right on the block. I fabbed up a simple gusseted L bracket and she works great. Matter of fact most people dont even notice that its there that how factory it looks. I dont know what engie you have but if you have the 2.3 it should be similar to whats in mine I snagged my 210 out of a u-pull-it. seems like it was 25 dollars. She was in a late seventies ford van but had the same type of belt I needed and had the clutch still in tact. I figured for that price I would chance it and take it home and hope that the clutch still worked. and it did. Once I got it installed I was lucky to find a belt that would fit but it was measured off belt length...the parts counter guy was pissed... I have seen a couple york style compressors mounted on their side on the drivers side of the engine compartment and mounted high up near the hood. I could have made a bracket that would have worked in that fashion but I prefer to not see the whole compressor when the hood is up.

Here is a pic of mine from when i was doing my engine mock up. Keep in mind that I also changed the alternator and the Ac compressor.  http://www.streetsource.com/issues2/viewPhoto.aspx?Type=Magazine+Show+Coverage&Photo=/uploads/Ownerprofiles/bjscustombillet/412009111942AM50091.jpg&Thumbnail=%2fuploads%2fOwnerprofiles%2fbjscustombillet%2f412009111942AM50091_tn.jpg
