i know how the mazdas and toyotas are but how the hell does the nissan lower bushing come out of the cross member? putting on my can-do arms and i cant get that bushing out! i went and got a piece of pipe that 1 5/8" (measurement from steve @ can-do) and I'm beating the hell out of it and its not moving at all its the same size as the outer ring of the bushing yet still not coming out is there a trick i haven't figured out yet Ive tried going both directions and still nothing so anyone that's done this on a hardbody please chime in to help me out thanks

Use an air chisel to seperate the rubber bushing from the shell that is pressed into your frame and then use a Sawzall to cut through the sleeve in two places. Once you have cut the sleeve a couple of times it will be in 2 pcs and fall right out. You can also use a torch to burn the bushing out of the sleeve but it is stinky and messy doing it this way. G'luck with it man.

I have an old minitruckin magazine where they installed new bushings on a nissan hardbody. gslif is right, from factory the nissan is kinda like built in and only way to do it is to burn it out. seems crazy but thats the way. it was an old mag. thats why i never throw those things away. comes in handy when least expected. good luck

yep I remember that article. Melt them out.        MT also puts reverse 4links on their trucks too. I reverse 4 linked my old mazda because they rev 4 linked the desert dragger frontier.   oh well.
