Taco tailgate on a 89?

I figured il have to modify it to suit my needs as far as fitting the lights i wanted to run. mainly my isse was fitment. is there a definite answer? because im getn mixed responses

Yes it fits just fine. The only mod needed for it to work is to relocate the upper latch on the bed so that it lines up with the one on the tailgate.  

well on mine i put the whole bed not just the lights and tailgate..i also put a skin not a tailgate wna the whole bed needed to be narrow...i went with the bed cause no one has did the bed swap
