If it leaves pits you could always use filler and then paint it.

Probably less money to just buy a new black bumper haha.

Chrome peels pretty easily if you can get it to start. A sharp chisel on a corner could start it well. Then hit it with a DA or a paint stripping disc to get it bare.

Here's the cleaned up pics i promised. I've got some more parts coming in next week so we'll see how the next update looks
