what year models did the nissan hardbody have the ka24e? and which is the better motor, the ka24e or the z24i?

Ka24E I would say, it has more power, and the internals can handle up to 300hp, and there is a huge aftermarket following for them. There is  a ton of info out there on these motors. Start at http://www.ka-t.org/ and look in the ka24e threads.

The KA motors are ten times easier to get parts for, which is nice if you're broken down on the side of the road and Discount has the parts in stock.

what year model range do they come in the hardbody? i know its somewhere around the early 90s models.
