im gettin ready to lay out a 1980 d150 shortbed, plans for the truck includes a 440 so im wondering the best setup for it is.....
i thought a parallel link setup, but as far as the bags. where is the best place to put them, behind the axle? what sucks about that is loss of lift.
thanks

you can always offset the upper or lower and run the bag on the bars.  Just make sure that whatever bar you decide to go with is strong enough for a levered setup.

i was thinking bags on the bars would make rear to soft for that kinda power and just squat alot

Then just go on top of the axle.  You won't get the extra lift, but you also won't hurt what lift you do get.  Set it up with a good pair of shocks and it should be good to go.

He has answered this before, look around a little, I think that he recommended multiple mounting points for the bags, and shorter upper link bars for a triangulated 4 four link.
