NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!VIN id on bed??????

ok im not going to bore you guys with the long story..but the short version is this...someone stole my bed for one of my toyota projects..was a stock white bed that was nice and straight and repainted...i live in a small town and i knew right away who did it...kids got it on his xtra cab white toyota...so now hes running around with a nice shiny box with beat up tailgate and beat up cab..i KNOW this is my box...but i have no way to physically PROVE it..ive looked all over on my other daily toyota to find a vid tag on the box...cant find anything..anyone know of something on the bed that i could use as to match it with my vin? am i shit outta luck here?

I think you might be screwd on this one unfortunatley, I don't think there is any kind of ID tag to say where it came from.  Perhaps if you call his bluff and threaten law involvment he will do the right thing and give it back.  Good luck with it Trevor, just try and remember that karma always gets these fuck tards, just takes awhile sometimes

yeah i got a feeling im fucked on this one..i confronted him earlier today and told him id let the whole thing be if he just gave it back, he lied and denied his ass off...so if the cops dont do shit about it..next time i see him he's getting my right fist to his face..and maybe an elbow after that...and no one will see me do it and i will deny it just like him

what year is it?  i know that on newer toyotas, all body parts have stickers on them with the VIN on them, but i don't think that started until around 2000 or so.  it would be on the front of the bed (in the gap between the bed & cab wall).  i also know that all older toy beds have a number stamped on the same front wall of the left bedside, but it's not the VIN & i don't know if it's any way of identifying it. i know kicking his ass would make you feel a little better NOW, but it's not worth it because, not only will you still be out a bed, but you might end up in jail or some shit.  if you still decide to knock him out, just make totally sure you pre-plan the place to do it, cause EVERYWHERE has cameras nowadays!!! good luck buddy.

I dont know if there is vin code on truck beds but i know that the code is on all car parts.  With that being said worse case you could call a toy dealer and ask them.  Or do as mentioned above. good luck with it
