Hello guys, I have a question concerning my lower ball joints. I am building my own tubular a-arms, and im not quite sure what to do with my lower ball joints. I need to make a ball joint cup, does someone out there make such a beast for a 67-72 stock lower ball joint. Do I have to go a get a screw in ball joint with a cup. If I get a screw in joint, will the taper be the same? If you have any feedback on this, please let me know. I have the upper arms already made and they look great. Im just a little lost on the ball joint issue. Thanks Klye
I don't think any of the screw in balljoints are the correct taper. I would also be a little worried about them being too small. I use the screw ins on Toyota's, and the larger one is intended to be an upper joint on a fullsize car. I doubt I would trust it as a lower in a fullsize truck. The stock balljoint is much beefier. I used Chevy balljoints in the D50 arms I made, and I just made my own cup out of 3" solid stock, for the press in balljoint.
speedway sales the cups..not sure if it will work with c10 ball joints, but they may be able to make them?
