well i ordered a complete rebuild kit for my compressor, i replaced the head, piston assembly, and cylinder .... well the old piston assembly was a bitch to get off, and in the process the bearing on the fornt of the motor shaft got pushed down toward the winding of the motor, i got it pulled back up and all put back together and all it did was clunk and blow the fuse, what gives im pretty sure i put it all back together as it came apart....any ideas on what i might be missing here.....

I twisted/snapped 3 3mm allen socket/wrenches in order to remove the piston assembly off the motor shaft. Ended up drilling it out...and then taking a small ballpeen hammer to "Tap" the SOB off...now, the motor shaft ended up approx. 5/16" out fo the motor housing..now its sitting in my desk until I build up the patience to tear it apart...im not doggin Viair at all, it has been a very realiable pump, but what a chore to get it off........

nevermind i figured out what was wrong....the plate that goes between the head and the cylinder was turned around wrong and the set screw on top of the piston smacked it, i didnt notice the relief in the plate till i took it back apart this morning......also,tmiit i ended up having to use a grinder to get the damn thing off, the motor shaft has a flat spot in it where the set screw jambs against so there wasnt any damage to the shaft...i would try that but be very carefull...i ground down the are where the screw is/was and down towards the motor till it was papeer thin and i tapped it off with a rubber mallet.....
