where can I find out which wires are what?????????

....i have a question....I am looking for a resource that will tell me what each wire is in a vehicle.(manual or online) that is relatively easy to use...I am transferring a complete 99 dakota wiring harness into a 2000 ram and want to use the stock "connector blocks" for the power mirrors and electronic door locks and power windows.... any idea where I could start? I really appreciate any direction you could send my way cause I am going to need to know what a bunch more wires are and extend them ....I didn't know if any installers had a secret wiring place online they used....

i would say you need the wiring diagrams for both vehicles which can easily be found in haynes repair manuels or you could go to your local dodge dealer and have them print out the wiring diagrams - with the 2 vehicles being so close to YOM (year of manufacture) i would ASSUME that the wiring will be the same gauge and possible the same colors

I am running into different colored wires....anyone know of an online source that would tell me the function of each wire?    haynes manuals suck to use for what i am doing

nuals are only a basic guide for any work u may have to do. get a service manual or go to the dealer and beg them to print you out the schematics u need
