I was in the garage last night and was looking at my Blazer thinking of a chop top. But a thought came in my head! What if a complete roof swap was done. Like something off a Dodge Magnum, of course it would have to be sectioned and trimmed to fit. If you don't follow what i'm talking about. Say you cut the off everything from the top of the body, like you would with a truck that just has a windshield. But take that out too. I don't know probly just another stupid idea.

thats actually a cool idea...  i've done a couple on older cars like tbirds and rivieras...  you might find it easier to just do an angled chop on the blazer...  how much you chop it will determine the amount of filler pieces you'll need...  i did a blazer for a buddy of mine  and once you get past about 2.5 inches you'll have to cut the roof and lengthen it and widen it out to fit....  the only worry on using the roof of the magnum would be makin the distance from the top of the door to the crown of the roof look right...if that makes sense?... it can be done but that alot of compound curves and bends that you will have to accomadate!  a couple of years ago i saw a tahoe that was yellow and he did an angled chop and then he leaned the back forward and it looked killer!  and i think thats the kinda look your going for.....  i would just stick with angled chop idea if your not a really great metal worker...  only cus you'll need to be handy with a wheel and planishing hammer...  i would just go to the salvage yard and get a couple roofs and make lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of measurements....  just visualize where the cuts would go and what it will take to make it look right afterwards.... remember tape is cheap and easy to take back off...  after you cut there is no going back.....  ive done alot of chops and such so if i can help let me know.....  good luck and great idea thinkin out the box!

seen a few ppl do roof swaps in the past, i believe bob grant did one w/ a blazer roof on a yota or something like that and sean mehaney (not sure if i spelled that right) did one on a truck yrs ago,  put like a old school wagon roof on a old yota. looked sick. tryin to remember names and trucks from yrs ago is gettin harder the older i get. where's hairbear when i need him lol

Yes i was thinking of the how the top would look with the Blazer body. Never liked chop tops that were way too low, but after looking at a Magnum the side of the body is pretty tall. I haven't done any measurements yet to compare the the body height to the bottom of the window, but they look pretty close. Also I'm still trying to finish up things on it so i can drive it soon, so this might be a mod that will go in place this winter. Thanks everyone for the positive comments!!!
