im debating on relocating the battery under the bed on my build and wondered if 4 guage wire for stereos would be enough. i know the stock 4 guage wire is more stiff or "structured" (you guys know what i mean) and the stereo is really bendable, would it hold up on a relocation or should i make a 15' stock wired extension? i will not be running a huge stereo system, nor the a/c-heat, in fact this will be a "base" electrical install.................

4 gauge should be fine for your application. If you had a large stereo or heat and a/c I would go larger. I used 0 gauge on my Mustang but I was running a large electric fan,a/c,and a large stereo. I used 4 gauge on my 92 mazda with no issues. Just make sure it is a good quality wire because most of the cheaper amp wiring kits are not actually 4 gauge wire more like 8 gauge with a thick shield.

Hey Slappy! Long time no see, brother. Just my personal opinion, but for the sheer length of your beast, I would run 0/1 Gauge.  Stereo stuff is fine. I'm running streetwires 1/0 gauge on mine from the back of the bed, up to the front, and have no power loss issues. You might be able to get away with the 4 gauge, but if I know you, the stereo install, and other options will come soon... haha, so you might as well run it bigger now and save time down the road...

welding lead cable is much cheaper than stero wire and has a higher voltage and amprage rating...you can get it at any welding shop and any size that would would need....hot roders have been using this stuff for years!

It never hurts to run bigger wire if you aren't finished with your upgrades yet.
