I'm located in NC and I was wondering the other day what the state laws are like for jacked up trucks...I know police hassle us smaller trucks, but what about you guys? Mainly the real big boys, 8" lifts and higher with a ton of work done to your trucks...Is there limits to how high it can be on the roads? Mudflaps on the rear for the big wheels and tires? I know its alot of questions but its something I've always wondered...Thanks

I know in AL and GA there are headlight, bumper and frame laws. So guys with the really big lifts have to mount lower headlights..lower bumpers (push bars style) and some even put false frame rails on. But, alot of the guys around here doing that come from "old money" so they just pay the fines.

damn good question red! if and when i do a lifted truck i'm sure i will be in the leage you are asking about! so i have always wondered this also.

i'm in georgia i kinda get the vibe that a max of 44's on your typical chevy and your fine. push the limits with your truck and really draw attention and i wouldn't be surprised if you get some tickets!

in south carolina i know that you don't really have to many road laws. shit, no inspections in the south cackalack lol.  i miss it down there.  but my friend has a 79 chevy with some iroc 50 something inch tires with no fender flares and the tires are like damn 15 inches wide, and he has 14 inches of lift all suspension.  so you can basically get away with anything there lol.
