i have a toggle switch hooked into the negative wire of my pressure switch, so i can kill the compressors if i want. just recently, if the tanks are low and i turn the swith on to turn on the compressors, the rpm's raise really quick and if im on the gas, the truck lunges forward for a split second. anyone had this happen before? ideas?

dont know whats going on but i wire all of mine with the toggle interrupting the 12v ignition wire and never have problems..

i may try that, but i read one time that it was better to run it through the ground wire. and its been working fine for about a year. i think its got to be some other electrical issue that causing it because last night i was driving and my dash lights looked dim, then when i hit the gas the lights would get brighter. my radio/head unit is getting twitchy too. now im really confused. not sure if its a battery or alternator issue now. im just running two viair 380's so it shouldn't be draining the system.

alternator not keeping up maybe.might be getting weak or just simply goin out on ya.

Is this in your Yota?  I did a quick look online and what i found could be wrong but the stock alternators on the 22re only put out like 60 amps.. Those two 380s draw 32 amps combined.. taking over half of the draw from the output of the alternator.  This would eventually kill the alternator because of the huge amount of draw it has.. Could have been caused by a weaking battery too that was causing the alternator to over heat while trying to recharge.. prolly time to upgrade the alternator a get a new battery too.. just my opinion and correct me if im wrong.

You have an alternator issue I would recommend replacing it or upgrading!

any luck see i was pretty sure it was the alternator

My vote is with a voltage issue of some sort, alternator or battery. Switching on the negative is not the normal thing to do but it should not cause any issue like this.
