I am static dropping a 98 Reg Cab 5/7 whenever my parts get here & needed opinions on tire sizes. (I havent done a static drop in a while)
I've been told 245/40/20 or a 255/35/20.

my truck was 5/7 on 245/40/20 and i had to raise the front up an inch for it to not rub on the fender

definitly would go with the 255 35 20 thats what mine is and it rides just fine. i have that chevy lean in the front so every now and then it rubs a slight bit but never anything major.

my truck used 2 b 5/7 on a 255/35/20 and i have a 93 x-cab and i didnt really like it. my tires rubbed a pretty good bit.  i wouldnt go that low on a static drop n e more just from my expeirence. i had all belltech suspension 3'' drop springs and 2'' spindles. i would do a 4/6 plus it was so hard 2 keep that truck alligned. good luck on whatever u decide
