Just wondering what your favorite types of car trailers are? I have a 1/2 ton tow pig so i'm looking at an open deck trailer because of the weight of the truck i'm hauling and the trailer. Yes driving it would be the best but sometimes a trailer is the cats ass. By the way the tow pig is a 1999 gmc 1/2 ton with 3.73 gears and a 5.3 engine.

Go with a recessed deck and beaver tail. You will find that loading becomes a problem if your trailer is too high, a low deck and beaver tail make it much easier. after borrowing trailers off of friends and family i decided that those were the two most important features to me.

oh yeah it will be a low deck height as the tow pig is lowwered 2-3 inches and has helper bags in back

I have a 20 ft Racer with what the dealer called a "Dove Tail".  I think the beaver tail is the same thing.  Yeah, that is def a must have.

20foot...try to get an aluminum one as it will be better on your half ton!! H&H Trailers has a really nice setup and has trailers that are tilt back (no ramps to mess up) hydraulic or manual

This is what I towed with my half ton Ram 8.5 x 28ft enclosed!

Before that I had a 18ft open deck trailer with a dove tail.

I have an 18 ft deck (22ft overall lenght) tandem with drop axles. My brother in law and I never could find out who makes the trailer though. I think it has a 5 ft beaver tail, and the whole deck tilts with a hand hydraulic pump on the front. The only negative thing i have to say about it, is that because it is so low, the beaver tail drags alot. Something else that will be invaluable to you with a 1/2 ton, is brakes on the trailer.
