I picked up a 'Street Rodder' mag the other day, and this was a new one to me. I've seen a few variations on this style of suspension after browsing the net now, one with the springs mounted on a shackle, and the axle located with a standard 4 link, and one with the spring mounted on a tab, basically using the springs themselves as 2 of the 4 link bars. Anyways this suspension has peaked my interest and I'm wondering if you can shed any more light on it.

alot of the 4WD guys use this set up...basically looks like a leaf pack cut in half right?

I'm not sure what kind of light you want shed...That type of suspension has been around for years. I think that a lot of the technology was advanced by off-road racing when some of the classes required that you use the stock type of spring to suspend the vehicle so builders would come up with all sorts of interesting ideas to use leafs with a 4-link. The roach in my profile has a 4-link front and rear, but the upper bars in the front and the lower bars in the rear are actually leaf springs.

Thanks. It was just something I hadnt seen before and I thought it was kinda cool. Do companies sell the 1/2 spring packs or is it literally just a regular leaf spring cut in half with holes drilled through the entire pack to bolt it all down? I like the look of it and if it performs well, I think it would be cool to try out on a future project.
