hey max would super pivots work for control arms ? i am making control arms for an independent rear? any help is appreciated

If you are talking about using the super pivots as a ball joint then no. If you are using them for inner pivots then yes, but they'd be a waste of money. The ball joint should not be a compliant joint like eurethane or even delrin.

how about using them as knuckles on a spindle or would a uniball be better. would heim joints be better for inner pivots? thanks for the help

A uniball would be what you want to use from the control arm to the spindle. As for inner pivots, a heim joint or a urethane bushing or even delrin will work for the inner pivots.

in any case, you would not want the interface between the spindle/knuckle and the a-arms to have any compliance (flex). There is too much stress on a single point like that to use a flexible joint, whereas the stresses are shared between 2 or more joints on the frame side of an a-arm.

Max A slightly off topic question but still to do with spindles for you.  WHen you build spindles the tapered shaft that the bearings ride on do they come from existing spindles pressed out or is there a source to buy new ones?

---------------------------------------------Most of the time I will cut a spindle pin out of an existing spindle for a few reasons, but there are companies that sell pin and hub kits. Quite often I will use bolt in hubs instead of a spindle pin with a hub and bearings.

What bolt in hubs do you prefer and do you have any info for where to get them from?  You really need to post up a list of all your contacts for stuff you buy.  I am sure it would be a serious list.  Thanks for the help.

I like the bolt in hub assemblies only for simplistic reasons. The hub, bearings and spindle pin are all in one cozy package. I get them from my local parts house. The trick is knowing which parts to use for what application. I haven't ever listed that because I don't really think that everyone should build their own spindles. There is too much going on there for the average builder to attempt. And I have listed my main suppliers in different threads depending on what the thread is pertaining to.
