copper line

are there diffrent types of copper line or would copper line from a hardware store work for air line on my truck?

yea there are two different types of copper line. there is a hard line which has a thicker wall and is much harder to bend. then there is what they call refrigeration copper. its a thinner wall thus making it much easier to bend. thats the one you want. both will work and i have used both on many vehicles. the softer is just way less of a pain in the ass to work with. hope that helps.

Is heat an issue with copper lines in hotter climates?

i know plenty of trucks that use the "soft" copper here in houston. and have been daily driven for years. jsut about everything that comes out of ekstensive is copper. ive ran it on all my trucks and never had a problem.  jsut dont by the cheap ptc fittings. swaglock or norgren

no heat is not an issue. you can run the line next to your exhaust and it wont hurt it at all. you could powdercoat or paint the line, this would have to be done after you band the line to the shapes you need. then use good push lock fittings and just be careful not to scratch them. and yes you can use the standard compression fittings that you use with nylon line. its all the same size o.d. you just have to make sure that your line goes straight into the fitting when tighting it down.  i give credit to the cats a silver star customs for the copper line idea. they sent me some and told me how to do it like ten years ago. i have run multiple setups with it and have never blown a line. knock on wood. lol.
