also would be better if it wasn't in MiniTruckin General and in the right section, like Paint/Welding or whatever!

Im assuming he means paint...And im assuming youve taken it down to bare metal..If you did that with a DA, youll need to hit it with some pre-painting prep/Wax remover..Eastwood and every paint supplier will have it..It will remove the dirt, grease and all that other shit...Make sure you wear gloves and dont just use some towel youve had laying around either..Then go ahead and lay down your etch..If you took it down to bare metal with a sandblaster, You dont need to do all that..Just go over it real good with a wire wheel to knock the sand off..Now if its a front crossmember or something that gets oil on it from time to time, you might want to..I hope this is what you wanted to know

grinders and wire wheels if its nasty material.  Don't use brake cleaner! I just heard about people doing this and when the brake cleaner gets hot it is really toxic. http://www.brewracingframes.com/id75.htm

If its new sheetmetal then you dont have to do anything..If its build some surface rust, just knock it off with a grinder..
