If someone(I) chose to use urethane bushings for end links as opposed to heim joints. My guess is that bushing needs to be level with the axle? If thats not clear. How about the bolt that goes through bushing(in which it hinges on) needs to be horizontal to any vertical movement of the link. The reason i'm asking is that it seems that the pics I see of other people 4 link setups. The mounting tabs on the pumkin see to be at an angle(pointing down towards the tires). Any vertical movement seems like it would bind. I'm in the finishing the rear of my courier and I'm new to this and would like to get it right. Any help would be appreciated. This has been a year long build and all have done is  research and try to get it right the first time

This has been a question that we have debated around my shop a few times. The agreed conclusion amongst us has been that as long as the you aren't trying to cycle 24" of travel with the bushings way off angle that they will cause little to no issues being installed off-axis. We also feel that angled tabs will probably offer a small amount more side load support over a bushing that is perfectly in line with the axis.

But as a side note, we do feel that if the tabs are way out of line with the actual pivot axis the job looks amateur.

So if the tabes are vertical, small gussets should work just fine.

Yeah, but that's not what I was getting at. When the bushings are parallel to the axis then the thin shoulder of the bushing is what absorbs all of the side loads. Where if the bushings are mounted off-axis then the bushing body will assume some of the side loads a percentage of the angle from 90o. I hope that makes some sense.
