i did it to my 88, you need to wire up a drac module, it tells your speedo what to do and controls your  cruise control .  you can get a 7 wire drac out of i believe 91-93 trucks, you can get an 8 wire out of 94-up.  i have a 7 wire, it was very easy. check on fullsizechevy.com and gmfullsize.com, they have more info on it.. you can also get the drac off of ebay that already has a dip switch installed in it and is ready top wire up.  about 5 of the wires in the newer cluster will not be used.  its the wires for the gear indicator- park, reverse, neutral, drive, and low gears... if you need some more info check those sites out, they were very informative,

IT WOULD BE EASY. YOU SHOULD ALREADY HAVE A DRAC IN YOUR MODEL SO ALL YOU WOULD HAVE TO DO IS  WIRE UP THE CLUSTER.. IF YOU WANT THE A/C YOU WOULD HAVE TO GOT TO OTHER FORUMS AND FOLLOW THE DIAGRAMS BUT MY 88 A/C UNIT FIT IN THE SMALL SECTION UNDER THE RADIO JUST FINE...  LEAVE ME A MESSAGE ON HERE WITH EMAIL AND I WILL SEND YOU DIAGRAMS OF HOW TO WIRE UP THE NEW CLUSTER.
