well i want to clean up my rear lights on my 98 fullsize and i was gonna smoke them and i already have them wet sanded really smooth..but what exactly do i have to do to make them just shine back up like they used to..before i sanded them they were dirty thats where the smoke idea came in..but i want them clear i just dont have a buffer so do i have to have a buffer or is there a way to do it by hand

u could try to rub them out by hand with compound , but like man said just clear them and they will look brand new............if u add a few drops of black in the clear it will tint them

I used the new 3M headlight kit they recently came out with and it turned my headlights from dingy back to crystal clear. Clear as glass I tell you! Plus it's only $20 and it comes with an attachment that goes on any drill and has all the levels of sanding pads and a buffer. Took me about an hour to do both headlights. Best $20 I've spent on my car in a while. I got mine at Autozone. HERE'S A LINK TO THE KIT
