i just got a 99 250 long bed reg cab, im making it a shortbed. and im wondering if there are any tricks besides the dropped beams and bags to get it to lay a little lower. im not worried about ride hight, just want it low when it sits. heres how im choppin it down to a shortbed.i will cut the wheel arch out then cut a 1.5-2 foot section above there and all the way across. and slide the back of the bed forward till i close the gap. i will need to move my axle forward about 6 ". and when i mount the wheel opening back in i will hold it out about 3" to cover a much wider tire. im thinking 22,s on front and 24,s on back. kind of dropped drag truck. oh and this truck is a powerstoke. i know its a little different, but i think if done right it should turn out really cool.

well i got a little done i took out 13"  behind the wheel and 5" in front of the wheel. i cut out the wheel arch so i only have one cut in the bed. wheelwells are 5 inches to far back, but im putting larger tubs to fit some big 24,s. i still need to cut 5" from the inner bed out back then i can slied the back of the bed forward.
