I was wanting to know how to prep and if i should use a primer, sealer, before painting.  I will be painting the strip on the side of the car, not the whole trim itself but just a strip. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Josh

I would scuff it real good with a grey scotch brite pad. clean it with windex.  spray a few lights coats of adhesion promoter (bulldog) before spraying paint.  you should be fine with that i dont think you would need primer or sealer.  kinda hard to say more than that without seein it. put a pic up.

sand it good with 320, etch prime then sealer then base/clear.

and I might aswell add my opinion too.....sand with 220/320, clean with degreaser, epoxy prime, then paint. Epoxys are better for aluminum because they dont contain phosphoric acid that can damage aluminum.
