Dang this thread is old haha
After Jake redid my backhalf I drove it for a while to school every day and all that. I dont think I ever did anything else to the truck after I got it back. Ended up trading the truck off a year ago (cant believe its already been a year) for a newer, stocker truck with half the miles. The silverado still needed quite a bit of work and I didnt have much money at the time plus it was getting old (150k miles and not a whole lot had been replaced).
From what I remember and was told the new owner had a new frame built by Stone Cold Customs and body dropped but the truck has been sitting in his garage still torn apart. Ive never even seen pics of it since I got rid of it. He put a 350 motor in it but not sure if its done. He also sold the sheet metaled bed and got a stock one because I guess he wanted to put 24s on it and the original bed was tubbed for 22s. I also heard someone threw a brick through the back glass but never found out if he had it replaced. Last I heard he's trying to sell it for $3,000 all torn apart. I hit him up about it and he said its a major project now. I was kinda hoping maybe it was in decent enough condition and possibly trade back but I dont want to deal with all of it and trying to restore the truck for a 2nd time lol.
Ive been throwing around the idea of getting rid of my dakota and get back into the bagged scene. Main thing though is there arent many shops around here that I would trust these days. The only guy who I would completely trust to work on my stuff (that I know for sure and could afford) is Brian Doyen who used to work at HOT Motorsports in Santa Ana, CA but Im not about to get a truck and ship to the west coast lol. He worked on my truck for a while and always did a good job and was a stand up guy. Im thinking about just getting a S10 (first truck I ever wanted) and just use a bolt on kit and keep it simple. After building 2 trucks Ive learned many lessons the hard way and wont cheap out on my next one. Basically I just want a clean and simple bagged truck, nothing crazy, and where I wont have any more problems than I would with a normal truck.
