I currently have a 91 cabplus b2600i, it has 3 inch blocks in the back, and cranked torsions upfront. I've been searching the site for shock recommendations and just want a clear answer. Id prefer to goto autozone/checker and pick them up, instead of ordering drop shocks online.
So what vehicle should i order the shocks for to bolt up to my truck? (since i need a shorter shock)

Also, i hear alot of people say they cut the front bumpstop mounts off?  Is this ok to do? And if so how much lower will this get me? (remember everything else is stock..no flipped BJ's, or anything.) If i decided to do this and put a 4inch block in the back maybe remove 1 leaf...would you still recommend the same shocks as above?

Sometime down the road a few months i will juice the truck...so i just want as good as ride as possible, and im sure my shocks are blown and most likely bottoming out. Thanks for your help..

When I had my mazda I had flipped the lower ball joints, cut the front bump stop brackets out and ran hrdbody shocks, I believe those are the smallest stock collapsing shock. The back I had 3 inch blocks with two leafs taken out, rode like ass until I notched it then it rode real nice. Not sure how low ur wanting to go but this is how low it sat, scraped over speed bumps quite a bit lol.

ok dude dont laugh but 75 ford pinto shocks are shorter than the nissan 4 wd shock. They also have a build in bumpstop so when you cut yours out your still good to go. I am running them on my nissan and they ride better than stock

You need to cut the lower control arm and flip the ball joints. Not only does this lower it another ¾ inch but helps realign the ball joint so it doesn’t have as much side load.

Cut the upper bump stop mounts completely off the frame, it will ride way better and well you just need to do it anyway.

While your under there and your sawzall or plasma cutter is in your hand and you have just cut off the bump stop mounts, cut the upper shock bracket off and raise it a couple 2-3 inches. You’re going to put hydro rams in there anyways so cut it and make it ready for the rams. The reason for doing this is your one step close to nasty riding oil leaking hydro rams, and with the mounts higher you can put whatever shock you want in there until you take them out in a month or two and throw them away because you’re putting a ram in there.

So in closing my point is buying and installing shocks is useless for you, as you’re going to take them off when you juice it. So just do this, save yourself some time and take your shocks off now.

---------------------------------------------I appreciate your input, but it will be a more like 3-5 months. I dont have access to a welder anymore as of last month. And will be getting my new miller next month. But before the juice install, i will shave and bodywork the truck. So spending 100$ on shocks isnt a big deal to me..because not only am i lowered 3ish inches, i have blown shocks...(probably original to the truck lol)  About the juice comment, you could have posted without that....im assuming your a "bags" guy and thats ok...but Id rather ride on a steel ram, then a little rubber filled with air. And i assure you with proper maintaince and install a juiced vehicle will ride better then a caddy, without a oily mess. Thanks again for your input...however even if i did have access to a welder right now..it seems like relocating the shock mounts up 3 inches...is a waste of time. As i would still have to  either reinstall my blown shocks...(which would be dumb) or STILL have to buy new shocks...Dee
