for me it wasnt as hard, i just cut the plate out, cut an inch above it, welded it back in, angled the clutch up just a little bit, and it cleared, but im on 18s bd almost 4". the trick is moving it closer to the inside of the tire if you cant go any higher on the outside of the firewall, if not, flip the geometry around like they said and make an access port to fill the clutch master up.
