question bout airbags...the ones that hit you in the face!

I dont have the airbag in my steering wheel hooked up nor do I even have the airbag module in my tacoma. Should I be worried about that thing going off in my face? Ive heard horror stories about bags breaking peoples necks and all kinda f#cked up stuff so it just kinda freaks me out. Am I ok driving it like it is? I do have plans for an aftermarket wheel but not for a little while...the one I want is kinda exspensive. Thanks in advance...

If it's disconnected then theres no way for it to go off.

when  you switch to an aftermarket one, you can set the stock one upside down on the ground, hook some wire to the wires coming off from the airbag and connect them to a battery and watch the thing shoot through the air lol,  we did it all the time in my college auto class.  some would go like 30 or 40 ft in the air.  just give yourself some room away from the thing lol

lol would be crazy if somehow the ups guy was delivering the airbag steering wheel to someones house and it flew out of his hands. hed be like wtf????

i sold the airbags out of both my s-10 and my tacoma and ti paid for the sbillet wheel and adapter with money left over.....just be careful about shipping.....i wrapped the plug in an anti static bag like what disk drives come in because foam creates a lot of static and it dosent take but a lil static to possible set that thing off....and just to be safe i sent it ground.....i remeber when i sent my taco bags out i put it on the counter and a loud ass alarm went off and the guy was like "congratulation! your the 1000th customer.....now whats in the box?!" Scared the shit outta me but i told him airbags from a steering wheel and he said "ok" and it it through....but ebay is the place to do it....i sold both bags and all teh computers and sensors off the taco for like $500 but that was in '03 and the bags were out of an '02 so they were worth more....just compare to others being sold on ebay....search "SRS Airbag"

I dont know the law in florida, but I think in Texas if a vehicle comes with safety equipment from the factory it must retain it. Example.. if you sell a truck that had air bags and they were removed,the new passengers in the truck could hold you responsible for any injuries
