im using an avs wiring kit for dual compressors on my truck and i was wondering where everyone hooks up the small black wire that is supposed to go to the battery. it draws too much current to hook it up to the underdash fuse box. any ideas?

Are you sure that you're supposed to hook up the "Black" wire to the Battery? Because I've been using the AVS wireing kit for years and its always been the "Yellow" wire to an ignition wire. And the "Black" was always a ground. But who knows........... Maybe they switched their colors?? You should go to the AVS sponsored forum or call them directly and ask for Jason or Nick. They are really cool guys and would help you out with any difficulties you have. I hope you get it figured out.

I'd imagine the black being a ground personally.

Just make sure you are going off this diagram. There is a chance that the ground and the accessory wire got put on backwards here at our shop.Hope that helps and let me know if there is any other problems...
