crapsman chop saw

the craftsman chop saw is on sale at sears and i was thinking about getting it but wanted to know if anyone has it. and is it a good chop saw? ill be putting it to good use but its not like i bag trucks everyday. plus its got a neeto laser!

man.. i have an older craftsman chopsaw... prolly 3 yrs old... its ok for the money, but it aint no dewalt for sure!  and mine dont have a laser though... thats actually kinda cool...  you'll prolly be ok for what you need to do though..

ya my dads got a dewalt and i like that one. ill probably end up getting it. im tired of useing cut off wheels on a grinder.

i think mine is a craftsman and it works good but that thing is HEAVY

I've had one for years now, got it as display model on sale.  Works great, pull some amps for sure and weighs a ton but I'm ok with that as it keeps it from walking while cutting.  Had to replace the brushes last year but still works great.  I saw the new ones with the laser, which looked like the mount would break off real fast if you plan on moving it around a lot.  mine has never had a home where it stayed, I use to put it under a bench and when I need it pull it out, so that laser would be broken not long after first using it, lol
