hi guys im  new to the site.. trying to get my feet wet... so my question is i've been told that candy paint is not a good choice for a daily driver, that it needs to be kept garaged or covered, that it will crack and stuff.. is this true.. i want a custom paint job, nice and flashy, but want something that will last.. if candy ain't the way to go, what is..

candy fades with alot of sun exposure.......depending on how good/bad  its laid down it might also become blotchy. Deff something to keep in a garage.

yea candy needs to b well taken care of, its hard to blend if it gets damaged.  but if u go with a good quality candy it shouldnt fade just use a good clear n youll b ok. if you dont kno how to spray it wont come out that great eather youll c alota modleing an streeks in your paint. so unless ur a good painter or you kno a painter that spays kandies i wouldnt go with it. if i were u id jus go with a really nice metalic paint job it will almost have that smae look without all the head aches of the candy

MY WIFES CAR IN MY PROFILE HAS A CANDY. IT'S OUTRAGOUS BLUE. IT LOOKS GOOD AT A DISTANCE BUT IT HAS CHIPS,FADE ON THE PLASTIC'S AND A FEW STREAKS.I WOULDNT SUGGEST A CANDY IF IT'S A DAILY. JUST MY OPINION.

Kandy isn't the way to go for a daily but  Dupont Hot Hues, and PPG all make some real nice paints in a 2 stage (base-clear) that last if taken care of can shine just as good as and Kandy out there. I really like the Dupont paints they cover alot better and its a simple Base - Clear system so If you do get rock chips on your truck you can paint just those panels that need it. Kandy you have to spray the whole damn thing over

A Candie is also def not for the beginner if your spraying it yourself.I gotta say if you want something that looks deep it does look amazing but def not something youll want on a daily. This kid that lives two towns over from me candied an s10.two months later it faded all the way to the white base.

You will see the blotchiness really bad on the donks that sit in the yard in the hood alot. I live in memphis and i think every donk I have ever seen looks like shit with patches all over.

if u like the richness of a candy u might want to look into house of kolor candy basecoat  it sprays like a base easily repairable and wont fade like the uk kandies
