I have seen it done. but i believe you have to flip the balljoint.

I have it done on both of my 1500's. I had to re drill two holes for the balljoints. Did not flip anything.

I used the 1500 ball joints. 2  holes for the bolts are real close but not close enough. So  i just drilled them to fit.
