it will all depends on coats of each item. what are you trying to achieve?

If you ever hit up any shows that dupont is attending with their hot hues booth, like Good Guys or whatever, you can overlay simulated candy and pearls over different basecoats. Gives you a good idea of what it'll look like in the finished product.

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by azswanger1) burgandy metallic basecoat, purple pearl mid, clear coat ---basic Burgundy  metallic from all angles until light hits the pearl.or 2) purple metallic  basecoat, red pearl mid, clear coat--- same as above with different colors..im trying to see which of these will produce the look that i want. sorry i know thats not the answer you were looking for- but this combo is really not a crazy mix- and so this is what you are going to get...the pearl will not change the over all color of the base- it will only change the perception of the base a very small (nearly unnoticeable ) amount.AND too much pearl will "muddy" up the paint job -- run by your local paint shop and have him mix you what you are looking for.. ( if he's cool) as opposed to trying to figure out a method for getting what your looking for..  these guys know the best method to get where you want to go.--good luck---------------------------------------------

shawn pretty much nailed it, thats a pretty simple tri coat your decribing. Your best bet is to go by a local paint shop and ask for a spray out card of those colours. You may have to pay for the material costs, but its better to do this that paint your whole vehicle and decide you dont like the finished product. -Brad
