Renderings vs. the finished project?

I'm curious, just how many people who go through the process of getting a "rendering" done actually complete their project based on the rendering? And what's the finished project look like compared to the drawings?

my 00 s10 and my 06 full size both came out pretty close to there renderings 

With me it has never worked. By the time I get to the end either too much $  is left to change the outcome on not enough $ which also changes the outcome.
