Bed question

So I plan on shaving the top of my bed basically. An in the front I want to make like a "trunk" type deal. I was wondering what you guys would use for hinges an how I would get it open. I was thinking maybe like using something similar as the pop up gas doors tht you push down an it opens enough to actually open it all the wayan then using like a toneau(sp?) cover type locking. Let me have some ideas guys thanx

That's a good idea. But how would I hinge it?
