can you put a muffler under the cab? i know it will fit but is it ok to be that close the the exhaust manifold? i plan on putting it where the cat was its on a standard cab d50.

the only problem is the exit of the exhaust fumes, being under the cab you run the risk of the fumes entering the cab which means CARBON MONOXIED POISONING = SILENT DEATH = leave me your truck in your will put the muffler under the bed homie

well theres not much room to fit a muffler under the bed i was thinking the muffler under the cab then run more pipe off it and dump it in front of the rear wheel. my concern was if its bad for the engine to have the muffler that close to the motor. but i dont think it can be if a restrictive cat is that close.

you can, but noise and more fumes are going to be the result, and it might reverberate in the cab which is annoying....have you looked at other mufflers? look at some hot rod companies and some exhaust companies out there that make small mufflers or longer but skinnier ones that may fit your limited space better

Muffler location would be fine. Mine bumps before my cab ends (regular cab s10). Its louder and hotter but I have a bare floor. Little sound deadener can cure that. As long as your cab has no holes fumes shouldn't be a issue. Cars and Suvs always dump out under the vehicle. Even run open headers.

mine is under the cab with a angle dump that angles out and down no real noise over factory and no fumes in my tacoma
