Edited: 12/17/2009 7:59:52 PM by dakotascrapinlooking for some ideas, pics on what to do. i'm bodied on 18's and 20's firewall notched just a bit but clutch master cylinder awful close to touching tire all the way down. Any ideas or pictures?  Jason

Cut out square around the hole for the master, and raise it up a couple inches, clearing for 18's is easy, 20's are a little harder, and 22's are a bitch but it can be done.

my firewall is not tubbed and im bodied almost 4 inches and drug alot off and the firewall clears, i cut the 3 bolt plate the clutch twists and locks into out and cut 3 inches up in the firewall,raise it up, and angle it up and fill it back in or you can cut it all out, get a piece of exhaust pipe, cut the oval out of the 3 bolt plate, and weld it inside the pipe, weld the pipe in and it recess some of it, there are pictures i posted a while back i think, there are alot of forums on here about this.

i got you, i thought about buying like a wilwood, you can get one for like $50. its not so much the master as it is the line that leads to tranny. Just want to play it all safe thats why i went ahead an notched firewall a bit and all. If i angle the master will the linkage conform to it as long as its not angled too much ?

You can angle it some without worry, but the bitch with the GM's is that the master, line, and slave cylinder are all one unit, the line is held in with dowels pins and not srewed in like a beake line, if Wilwood makes a conversion, and you are planning on getting bigger wheels, then get that, otherwise you are stuck with the stock parts

Anyone else got ideas?..pics? Sucks casue i dont need much clearance. Tech it will only be close lay'd out and i cant drive lay'd out anyway...lol but just want to be saf.
