i removed all my egr stuff today and made block off  plates, i also installed a supra afm with a cone filter. it wasn't bad at all and cleaned the engine bay up a lot. after i got finished i took it for a test drive and WOW!!! the seat of the pants dyno was very impressed the truck runs so much smoother and just pulls so much harder i cant believe i didn't do this sooner.and i haven't got a check engine light yet ,but ill post it up if i do, and most of the time a 10k resistor in the plug of the egr temp sensor solves this.ill try and post pics up later. my motor is 94 22re with a 5 speed

ive heard you can remove/block your EGR stuff, Ive also heard youd better NOT do it..Im interested to see what happenes after its been running awhile, Keep us updated man..I take it you dont have emissions testing down there?

I know from my 85 corolla removing egr with a fuel injected engine, was a bad idea. Of course that's with a stock a/f meter and stock ecu. I know its possible to remove the egr but there needs to be some tuning involved. Switching out the a/f meter with the supra one may have been the solution. It only took my corolla one weekend of constant driving to crap out. It was ran to lean, cylinders got red hot and starting melting internal and external parts. Hope u don't run into what I did.

i drove it about 100 miles today and i always run 93 octane and no problems yet.it runs a whole lot smoother and more powerful also.and i havent noticed any pinging or high temps so i guess ill see if it hurts anything.

U might not see high coolant temps until its too late. My car ran great and stayed at normal temps. It was close to the 500mi mark when it started skipping. When it did I pulled over and popped the hood. Header was cherry red. I was about 50 mi from the house. By the time I made it home the distributor cap melted in two. Two cylinders had no compression and the other two had only bout 25psi. It was a replacement jdm engine with low miles. I took off the egr to get rid of all those vacuum lines and make it cleaner under the hood.

i made a run down the interstate today averaging about 85 for about 100 miles the overall trip was about 200 total.after i ran the first 100 i parked and checked under the hood and everything was great the engine and manifold was actually cooler and to be running 85 at about 4500 rpms for almost an hour and a half i was amazed i haven't filled back up yet to check the mileage but i know it hadn't gotten worse and the power improvement was great.

That's great! I'd like to know what mpg you're getting.

well i filled up today and i get 26mpgs and that was with 200 miles on the interstate at high rpms i cant imagine what im gonna get on a normal 55mph road!!!

ive been running my EFI 22re for years without the emissions stuff, Ive never had any issues, and it always ran the same. -Brad
