Well guys finally got ahold of a garage to get some much needed work done on the Yota in the next few months, this includes suicides, new bed, new tails then paint etc etc etc List goes on and on, Another project I want to tackle is the damn trans x-member. If I had the $$ I would buy Seth's design, But funds just arent there for that, So Im looking for pics and/or ideas for making my own. Should be cake saying the shop Im using also has a lift. But just looking for ideas/links/pics/measurements right now

i cut off the part of the factory mount that bolts to the transmission and welded it to some 1.5 x 1.5 square tubing .120 wall and then lined everything up and welded it to my frame. i have 2in exhaust and still have room. ill try and post a pic later

Yeah I am def looking for to making my own rather then modding stock.. Just because I am also planning on some different exhaust as well, I custom made my 2 1/4  mandrel setup from the cat back, now Im doing away with the cat and replacing it with a small muffler and as soon I get this and my other stuff done I plan on a header and 2 1/4 exhaust back to my mandrel section. But hell post pics of modified stock ones too, Also lemme know how close you get to laid out in the front with your setup without a Z

It could be worse,i paid a shop tocut out the old crossmember on my 92 yota, and he spent 5 minutes with a plasma cutter and just cut off the part that hangs down.

I know you said funds are tight, but if you want one right now is the time to order one. I have an existing order that is going out next week, and the material is supposed to be here tomorrow so I could build them both at once and you would get it quick. They usually end up under $200 with shipping. Just an FYI. If not, here is a shot installed:  It leaves just over 3" of room for exhaust when the bottom is level with the frame. You could push it up a bit more if you needed the room, as the mounting design is friendly to change, but it is going to raise your transmission more. It already lifts it about 1/4" to begin with.
