While the passat was here to get the seals changed the new owner and I decided to try and get it a little lower. I had some spacers machined to move the rear suspension pivot back 1". The suspension swings towards the door quite a bit on these cars, so when it is all the way down the tire hits the door jamb instead of the top of the wheel well. Moving the suspension back with the spacer helped to get the car lower. Also in the front the upper control arms were hitting the strut tower area, so some metal had to go. I will get better pictures tomorrow if it stops raining. And I also forgot to take before pics, so I am posting some with the old wheels from when I first juiced it

Why didn't you do that for Mike? Those rear spacers are pretty cool. Is the suspension the same as golf/jettas also? I would guess that they would be useful for static dropped cars to give a bit more travel.

Mike doesn't live in Phoenix, lol. The suspension is very similar. Doug (the new owner) actually found the idea on the VW websites. Someone makes the same type of thing for the jettas and GTIs. No one makes them for the Passat, so I figured I would make them myself. I would love to market them and sell them, but they are pricy to make so I would have to sell them for $200 with hardware. I will post something on the VW boards and see if anyone bites.

I think the rain has stopped...  Quick back it out and take pics before it starts again!   Looks good..

tough to tell with the different wheels. I should have taken before pics with the wheels on it, oh well. It is probably about 3/4" lower in the back and 1/2" lower in the front.

Arent the old wheels on the car that was parked next to it??   It looks really good.

they sure are, but I hate taking wheels off German cars... stupid studs instead of nuts.
