I'm bagging a 00 f-150 to just lay on a small 22". the driveshaft is hitting the rear cab crossmember. its a v-6, 5 speed truck. Can you get a 2 poece driveshaft for this truck. I cant really fnd anything specific on this. Has anyone delt with this yet. The truck has a full fiberglass interior with 5 10" subs in the extended cab. the guy doesnt want to cut the cab if at all possible. Any info on this would be great

smaller shaft or a two piece. Get ready for a high cost I priced a two piece like 2 years ago and believe it was somewhere around $750 if not more. Any driveshaft shop should be able to get you setup. just out of curosity, who is doing the work? any pics?

on mine, i wouldnt say its the best way to do it, but mine only rubbed on the back most section of the xmember, so we just cut that little section, still has a good 2-3" left going all the way, We notched the gas tank xmember, and will have a custom tranny xmember built soon.

thanks. ford made a 2 pce in certain models but they are a bitch to find used and the oe ones are obsolete.

I had a smaller in diameter one made for my truck. It works ok untill i get into really high speeds. It vibrates alittle. They told me that the reason ford made that alluminum shaft is cause it is long and that a steel one would be to long to balance correctly. So what I have seen people do know is put a step notch in that rear cross member just like you would do for the rear end.
