Ok, Gavin test fit the Maven's on the 89 burb tonight, here's the deal.  The wheel fits, but the spindle sticks out too far due to the concave centercap on the wheel.  When the other guy was working on it, he was planning on using the "knee" (upper control arms, spindle, and lower control arms) from a 99-up fullsize chevy because they don't have the spindle that sticks out (or has a dust cap), and redrill the spindle for the 5x5 bolt pattern.  Gavin ground down the spindle all the way to the hole for the cotter pin, and the center cap still would'nt seat.  Any ideas?  I know we could use a wheel spacer, but i'd really like to avoid that if possible.

For this same reason, is why i'm using 99 and up front clip on my 63'. even though its six lug my 26's won't work.  However, i've been told the 99 and up offers more travel, however for your situation my brother suggested to me to just make some custom center caps and have them machined.  But I thought when you put them on there they would be on there for sure due to not being plastic (probably wouldn't be able to get them off)....don't know if it would work but you'd have to weigh the cost of machining some vs. making the newer stuff work...After typing this up I thought i might need to look at the wheels...my wheels had the lugs exposed and just had a bubble style center cap so retract part of my first statement.. I think it could still be done... for my sake my bro does cad and solidworks so he drew it up first to see the relationship between the spindle and cap...you'd just have to draw it up and make the concave center part stick out farther while make the specs of the rest of the cap the same...might not look that bad but anyhow thats my suggestion...good luck

thanks, dude.  the only problem is the Maven's have a star in the center cap.  I thought about just heating the plastic until it bubbled out a bit, then remembered about that damn star, lol.
