Were still on the same schedule that we were on when i talked to you last week. 3-4 weeks from then is what were looking at.

Do you not get any of the replies to the texts you send me, or emails? Seems like you havent gotten any of them.

I still need to know how you want me to ship this rear end? pallet? If so, i will need to go pick one up from somewhere. I doubt i can just put it in a box and send it regular fed ex, they wont even take bare metal control arms from me like that, anything over 95lbs needs to be on a pallet or in a wooden box of sorts.

Hey, i just found out something that might work really well Rob. I guess DHL will freight ship a pallet of any weight up to 499 lbs, to anywhere in the US for 299$

It has to all fit on a standard 3x3 pallet, but i think i can fit everything on the pallet.

You have to be a current DHL account holder, which i personally am not... and if you arent either I can use my fathers account at his shop....

Just a thought, may work out well... ive never sent anything via DHL so idk how reliable or anything about them really.

i am a fedex ground driver and our limit is 150 pounds. i ship axles from a trailer plant all the time with just a label stuck on them. i also ship 100+ pound boxes all the time without being crated or palleted. amd as for the control arms you should be able to zip tie them together wrap them in celofane good and stick a label on them. i deliver parts like this all the time. ive hauled transmissions, leaf spring packs for semi trucks, tractor wheels, you name it. all without being banded to a pallet or crated.

The zip ties and celofane done fly for me around here any more. I have 4 sets of control arms returned the same day for it. My local terminal wont let it pass. I used to do it all the time, just because of how simple it was, but they put a stop to it, im pretty sure the drivers complained about it.

I was a fed ex driver for 4 years right out of high school, and i remember hauling all sorts of stuff like that in the past, thats why up untill recently I had allways just shipped bare items with a sticker and some celofane and let it fly. But, it bit me in the ass when i had 4 shipments returned and they wouldnt credit my account for them or anything, so i had a 200$ wasted bill with fedex.

My local terminal also said 95lb max on packages without a pallet. The drivers cant carry any more supposedly, I even said i would drop them off at local terminals, and they didnt go for it.

I have the formal letter that they wrote me about it somewhere stating their guidelines.... i think i submitted it with my taxes , so ill have to look for it.

damn thats nuts. those lucky bastards have it made up there lol. we get our asses handed to us down here. the limit is supposed to be 150 but i swear they would make us ship a damn coke machine if someone stuck a label to it.

idk how it is down your way, but are your driver routes contracted?

Like, do your drivers work for fed-ex, or do they work for a contractor that bids for fed ex?

Up here, north of detroit, all of our fed ex drivers are not actually employees of fed-ex, they work for a contractor that bids each route for fed-ex.

They honestly have it made up here, since they set it this way, there are no longer any late pickups, or heavy shipments. The latest pickup within 90 miles of me is 4pm. I remember back in the day having a 7:30pm pickup two times a week...

Its terrible.

thats how it is here. all of our routes are contractor owned. ive been there oct was 4 years. i deliver 2 whole counties out of a p1000. 3 pages of pickups everyday. and i have 4 pickups that are between 3:30-5:30 that are an hour away from the terminal, and 2 pickups one 6 and one 6:30 both are half an hour away from the terminal. so i know what your talking about bro. thursday i delivered 314 packages to 100+ stops and picked up 40 packages. this peak season shit is killing me lol.

Yea, im not sure what the contractors had negotiated around here, but they really have it made, its outrageous.

I remember working for them around this time of year, its a killer!

Taylor, what kind of set up can you come up with so I can run my bags behind the axle on a link bar. I really don't want to put the bags over the axle.Let me know what you can come up with and a price. thanks Kevin
